FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Interested in joining Rotaract? Here are some answers to common questions, that may help you make up
your mind.
We invite anybody interested in the issues and topics we focus our efforts on to join. We are also open to new
projects and helping you acheive your mission to help others. Members must be able to dedicate enough time to participate
and make a difference in the organization.
Who is eligible to join Rotaract?
Any person aged between 18 and 30 or who is a student is eligible to join. Beyond that, all you
need is a willingness to get involved.
Rotaract has no political or religious affiliations, it welcomes all young people who are keen to contribute
to the community, and develop their leadership and professional qualities.
How much does it cost?
There is an annual donation of $50 made to Rotary International projects that is collected through
membership dues. Beyond this, the only costs are for activities, for which participation is optional. Given that many members
are students, clubs always try to keep costs to a minimum. We are a student club and receive funding from Student Government
and our local Rotary sponsor, Boca Sunrise Rotary Club, to help in the initiation of fundraising events and to sponsor travel
to International Rotaract conventions.
What should I expect if I attend a meeting?
You should expect to meet a group of friendly young people with a desire to contribute to the community,
better themselves and their peers, and have a good time while they do it.
How do you qualify to become a member?
Generally, we ask that you attend at least 3 meetings and one activity before you to be inducted.
That way, you can be sure that you want to join Rotaract, and that you feel comfortable being a part of our club.
What are the benefits of joining?
There are several benefits to becoming a member of our organization. Our members are close friends and we have a
great time when we get together. Of course we also have a common interest, and we hope to further our cause - - to serve our
community and become professional leaders in the process.
Rotaract is an international organization - - it gives you friends across the world and it brings you closer those afar
and at home. The hands on experience is none that can be learned in the classroom.
